On 17 April, the Netherlands Physical Society held its annual meeting online. The programme featured lectures by Nobel Prize winner Didier Queloz on Exoplanets and by Martin van Hecke on Designer Matter. Three women competed in the finals of the young speaker contest: Anne Meeussen (Amolf/UL): The peculiar effect of a small error, Athira Menon (UvA): How well do we know our stars? And Luca Bouwmeester (UT): The insulator-to-metal transition in BaBiO3. Most participants voted for Anne Meeussen’s presentation. Several other prizes were also awarded.
