PRISMA pilots industrial responsible innovation

Ineke Malsch • jun 28, 2019

Experts from academia, industry and governments discussed the PRISMA roadmap for responsible innovation in industry during a workshop on 27 June 2019 in Brussels. The project has translated responsible research and innovation into an extensive list of Key Performance Indicators and piloted targeted selections of these KPIs in eight case studies of SMEs in nanotechnology, synthetic biology, self-driving cars and drones, and internet of things. The resulting roadmap will be developed further into a CEN Workshop Agreement, fostering standardisation of responsible innovation processes in industry. Stakeholders are invited to join the committee preparing this CWA soon. This new CWA will be complementary to other (pre)standards, including ISO 26000 on social responsibility and CWA 17145-1:2017 (E) on Ethics Boards and CWA 17145-2:2017 (E) on Ethical Impact Assessment. In RiskGONE , the latter CWA will be developed further into an ethics module in a modular decision support system for risk governance of nanomaterials. Info: http://www.rri-prisma.eu/news/
